Asheville’s recent water crisis left nearly 40,000 people without potable water service, some for more than a week. The event was caused by a failure of physical water pipes and infrastructure, but also by our collective lack of awareness of the vital systems that serve us.


The NYC Ferry system rapidly grew with high ridership and new station locations. This resulted in a significant expansion of the ferry vessel fleet, requiring the creation of a new operation and maintenance facility, Homeport II.

Asheville needs to take responsibility for providing for its residents. Asheville has gained national recognition as a great place to visit, but let’s work on making it a great place to live.
